Racers Electric Fuel Pump Kits

For years, Corvair owners were in the woods for an electric fuel pump setup if they either decided to go electric, or the quality of aftermarket mechanical pumps made the decision for them.

Corvair enthusiast and all around good guy, Craig Nicol, decided to make a kit that he wanted in his Corvair. One that is reliable, easy to assemble and run quietly. From what we’ve heard, or haven’t heard, he makes the best electric kit available. Craig also makes blade fuse blocks for Corvairs.

A few of you sent this link to share with readership so we are happy to oblige.

Update from fuel pump land…

FYI I sell the only complete, engineered Corvair electric fuel pump conversion kit. These kits have been more or less flying out the door for almost two years now.

As many of you know, corporate raiders siphoned billions from the automotive aftermarket brands they owned and bankrupted most of them. This included many familiar brands; Carter, Raybestos, Cardone, Autolite, etc., and many didn’t survive the bankruptcy auction. Carter Fuel systems was one of the companies that didn’t make it and Carter pumps were the basis of my Corvair fuel pump kits.

I’ve been shipping kits with “Pierburg” pumps for a few months and they’re fine but they do have a whine you can hear when the key is on, engine off, where the Carter pumps are basically silent. Silence is one of my kit’s core attributes. While there’s nothing wrong with Pierburg kits and they are quiet, I’m happier with Carter-based kits.

Remarkably, I was able to purchase over half of the Carter warehouse inventory so for the next six months or so, I’ll be able to ship Carter-based kits for the most part. Yay!

Photo: A little over 150 Carter pumps, do the math and this inventory hits the low five figures at cost! Yikes! If a silent, complete, engineered electric fuel pump conversion “sounds good”, please take a look at my website: Racersrods.com

“Thanks for watching!” ~Craig Nicol
