When you drive your Corvair, they will come. From far distances…. to look at and talk about YOUR car!
New member Scott Lyon took his 67 Monza out to Goodguys this past weekend. No sooner did he get settled in than an enthusiastic attendee spotted him from a football field away, ran up and let him know that he had built a Corvair model that was on display at the event. Also attending the event were Corvair friends Mike Lewis with his 62 Spyder and Ken Wilder and his 61 Monza. All very beautiful cars.
Bruce Mooers took his 69 Monza, The Blooper, out to his local cars and coffee event. Bruce reports that the car was the hit of the event with people being blown away by the quality of restoration. For those of you who have seen Bruce’s Corvairs in the flesh, you can understand this reaction.
Laurence Jones decided to go on a nice long road trip to Morrow Bay in their 65 Monza. Laurence reports about 20mpg and a hundred smiles per gallon for the trip. Purred at 60 and would creep up to 80 without breaking a sweat. Nothing like a roadtrip in a Corvair!
