One of the topics of last night’s SFBA club meeting was about wheel alignment and where to get one! When you point the car in a certain direction, it’s very important to go in that direction, after all!
A few “old school” shops were mentioned that still work on our “old school” Corvairs. Known shops are in Hayward, Antioch and on the peninsula. If you are reading this and want to know where these shops are, drop a message and we will get you more info.
Thanks to our friends at Corvantics, you can do an alignment at home using this original GM manual. This download is provided by Corsa on their site, so please consider joining Corsa or renew that membership.
Interestingly, reading over the digital copy of the Detroit Area Corvair Club’s newsletter this month, one of their members encountered the same issues with finding a shop that would do alignments on a Corvair… in 1985!!!

There are also videos on Youtube showing how to do a home alignment.
Here’s a good one from our friend on the other coast, Auto Anatomy.
