SFBA member Laurence Jones has a passion for classic cars. So much so that they created a blog specifically to showcase cars of interest spotted in the streets over the years.

A few years back, Laurence reached out to the club to ask about a 65 Monza Sports Sedan that was for sale. After much discussion, Laurence picked up “Frankie” and a love affair was born. Sadly, Frankie met its fate when it was t-boned by distracted driver.

Bruised, but not beaten, Laurence continued to keep an eye out for the next Corvair. Many candidates were considered, debated on and eventually passed on.

Until now!

From Laurence:

“Just shy of 5 years since I bought Frankie the 65 Corvair Monza sedan, this weekend I saw another Artesian Turquoise Monza with a white interior, 110hp Turbo Air Engine and Powerglide Automatic, but a coupe this time.

So a few thousand budgeted later, after a splendid test drive with another Corvair enthusiast that recognized the joy on my face and offered to take me to lunch, I bought Grace Lucille Jones, a Los Angeles built 1965 Corvair Monza.

For the astrology nerds, The Sun in Libra is conjunct my Mars today, Mars in Scorpio is applying to an opposition to my Venus and I got that Uranus in Gemini/Pluto in Aquarius magic going on too.”

Have a Corvair story? We know you do. Send an email with a few photos to sfbacorsa@gmail.com Our readers really love to read about what got you into Corvairs and the stories behind your cars.

Congrats again Laurence! We are VAIRY happy that you found another gem!

One response to “Members Cars ~ A Love Supreme”

  1. At least this one was also not bought at the hells gate that was the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully this means I get to enjoy it in community more. If things align for me to attend Fan Belt Toss end of October…
