We were recently sent a “Corvair article” from a subscriber that was a copy/paste from a Facebook post. Boy howdy was it chock full of A.I. slop and inaccuracies. Take warning and use caution if you still frequent that platform looking for Corvair (or any other) advice. This is a big reason that we set up this website and the private SFBA forum on the Corvair Center Forum. Both are free of spam, scam and garbage info.
Speaking of Spam, it was also brought to our attention that a member received an email claiming to be from SFBA asking for money. To be crystal clear on this, no-one from SFBA will ever directly reach out to ask for money. We do appreciate your support with dues payments and we do a membership drive at the beginning of the year and you can join, renew or donate with SFBA at ANY time, but we will never send an email asking for money. Always check the email address of the sender if you get a solicitation for money from anyone. The senders email address should be a dead giveaway that the message is a phishing scam.
