Offenhauser has a long history of manufacturing hand made high-quality custom auto parts and are a legendary name among Hot Rod and custom enthusiasts.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1946, they continue to make parts from the same hand made molds developed by the company founder, Fred C. Offenhauser.

While Offenhauser is famous for their hot rod, and later muscle car parts, they also saw the excitement around the Corvair in the early 60’s and made special parts specifically for the Corvair. Their Corvair parts manufactured included valve covers, dual carburetor mounts and oil pans. These parts were designed to enhance engine performance, help with cooling, and give the engine a more customized look.

These parts are still being manufactured in California and available today

Over the years, Offenhauser’s focus on high quality, innovative and eye catching parts made them a go-to brand for car enthusiasts who wanted to upgrade their vehicles with reliable, high-performance parts…. even our little Corvairs!

They were also popular on dune buggies and sand rails as Corvair engines in junkyards were popular choices for these kit cars. With the exposed engines on these platforms, Offenhauser parts would really shine.

Today, while many after market accessory manufacturers have off-shored, consolidated or closed shop, Offenhauser are still manufacturing hand made, high quality parts out of their longtime Los Angeles location. Check out the video below for a visual history and tour.
