SFBA would like to wish all of our members and friends in the Corvair Community a happy and safe 4th of July.

Seems like as good a day as any to drop the top or roll down all of the windows and take that Corvair out for a nice long drive. Studies have shown they generate on average 100 smiles per gallon.

Here’s a little fun history for today.

Have you ever seen a Corvair Shriner Car?

Shriner Corvairs are a unique series of customized Chevrolet Corvairs, created by the Zenobia Shriners Temple in Toledo, Ohio, in the 1970s. These cars were a patriotic display, featuring red, white, and blue paint jobs, and were used in parades and other events.

Approximately 22 were customized, with only a handful believed to still exist today. One of the survivors is currently housed at the CPF Museum on Route 66 in Glenarm, Illinois.
